MIONAGADANAN, 75, the atoms seen in a ray of sunlight coming into a house. [Stress on first syllable, A.J.]
Mion is a prefix meaning something small, but I can’t work out the rest of the word. Codan are pieces (from cuid, according to Dwelly), so perhaps that’s related. One person I spoke to in Eriskay pointed out that “adagan” is used there to describe rain clouds as well as corn sheaves, but that doesn’t quite fit either.
